Cupcake bouquets (part one)

Cupcake bouquets are all the rage. Beautiful cupcakes that resemble roses and arranged to look like a flower bouquet. I think the whole idea is very innovative and creative. It makes a beautiful centre piece for tea party or an edible gift for someone special.

Believe it or not but these beauties are not difficult to make.

I will be doing a 2 part tutorial on how to make these beautiful cupcake bouquets!

The  1st  tutorial will be on how to pipe the roses and next week we will concentrate on how to assemble your cupcake bouquet.

Icing roses

Icing the roses on the cupcakes is child splay and can be achieved by anyone who has a piping bag and a star nozzle. So don’t feel daunted, it only looks difficult.

What you need:

  • A piping bag fitted with a no1 star nozzle
  • Soft icing (that holds its shape)
  • Cupcakes or a cake
  • Gel  colour  (optional) and a small paint brush if using  gel colour   *if using gel colour to accentuate your roses, just  paint two or three stripes of colour down the piping bag before filling it with your icing.
